Note that 5G is entirely unrelated to 5Ghz WiFi.

5G is 'fifth generation' cellular technology while 5Ghz is a frequency band.

A 5G phone might well also be equipped for 5Ghz domestic wireless connectivity, but the similarity in naming is a coincidence.

@steveblue8

As long as its working okay I wouldn't worry about the band. If you do run into an issue then lowering the security in the musky app might help.

@steveblue8 you look to be confusing two technologies. 5G (fifth generation) is the latest technology Mobile providers use. WiFi which is the signal from your Sky hub is different but uses two wave bands a longer range but slower 2.4GHz and the faster 5GHz band which sounds similar but in this case simply means the radio frequency used. 5GHz band signals have less range as they do not pass through walls etc as well.

Hello

thanks for your reply, i understand what you are saying

but i have a 5g phone 3ft away from the router so i would imagine it should use 5ghz ?

another thing my wi fi washer worked perfectly with my old sky router on 2.4ghz

now it will not connect because my phone states in the washer app you are using 5ghz

and must switch to 2.4ghz to connect your washer ?

so i give up
