various devices and sites blocked even with shields and controls turned off

Luckily we have a secondary broadband service, because sky broad is shockingly bad. We are paying for the 'advanced router' which is just not up to the job.

Various devices on the network get blocked for seconds every so often, interrupting gaming

Some  sites are blocked on one phone - ie Amazon Prime, while ok on another phone

This happens either with wired or wifi connections

Sky Broadband shield is off completely

We do not use MacAfee

We have a mixture of macs and windows computers

Its so bad I really just want to cancel the contract.

@PhilC1 you will have a problem in convincing Sky to release you from contract in the circumstances you describe. Not arguing something isnt wrong but from what you describe it is not the feed to your hub which is what you are buying. As a start can you post your hub's stats. See Find your Sky Broadband router statistics

As a trial can you also add a public DNS service to a couple of devices that misbehave Google's on 8.8.8.8 works well as. Stalling you describe can be down to an issue with DNS not responding. . If they stop being a pain its a possible cause.

Is that the black Sky Broadband Hub or the white Max Hub?
