Hi. I want to ditch sky sr203 and get a better router.
is it better to go with A Modem Router or getting a modem and router separate?
The ability to be able to prioritise bandwidth to a certain device has to be a feature also.
are there certain chipsets to watch out for that some router manufacturers use?
does anyone have the hardware specs of the sr203 so I can compare against 3rd party routers.
Thanks

In my opinion get a seperate modem and router as this will allow you to plug the router into an fttp ont when full fibre arrives
What speeds are getting at the moment ? Are you currently superfast fttc or ultrafast fttp or g.fast?

Found your stats so you're fttc vdsl superfast
Modem tp link td w9970
Instructions for setting up tp link td w9970 as modem bridge
select sky vdsl from isp list
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/1332/
And for routers i would consider any of the following
Asus rt ax56u
Asus rt ax58u
Asus rt ax68u
Asus rt ax86u
Asus rt ax88u
And asus zenwifi xt8
A lot will depend on your budget and requirements

ISPs typically don't publish those (apart from the standards they meet, such as 802.11ac). Anything you pay actual cash for ought to be 'better' than cheap-as-possible hardware which ISPs essentially give away.
