thinkbroadband graph not working at all (100% packet loss)
Hi,
Recently got sky having moved house where I had virgin media. Always used thinkbroadband in order to pick up on issues and quality of my connection, however, it seems to be impossible to get working on sky? Having googled, there are very few reporting issues with this and the advice I have recieved hasn't worked.
What I have tried:
- setting custom firewall to make sure icmp is not blocked
- disabling ipv6
- using both ipv6 and ipv4 wan address
- rebooting the router/modem
Using the white sky hub I believe.
The only other thing which it could be is the MAP-T. I have tried enabling upnp in order to get a 1:1 sharing ratio instead of 8:1 but this does not work (it doesn't even drop to 1:1)
Any advice please?

Re: thinkbroadband graph not working at all (100% packet loss)
@Nexus33 as far as I know the white Sky Max hub does not have a setting to respond to incoming pings which is why the BQM does not work. The older black Sky hubs used to have to be manually configured to respond to pings but sometime in the last few years it switched to be on by default. Both the My Sky app and the web interface lack such an option.
The Sky hub is not ideal for anyone who wants control of their connection.

Thanks @Chrisee . I presume a 3rd party router by say asus would resolve this? Or will there be issues with using 3rd party routers?

Re: thinkbroadband graph not working at all (100% packet loss)
@Nexus33 for the BQM to work the router needscto respond to the pings simple as that I think most should. In terms of connection Asus routers are pretty well understood and connect to Sky services. Netgear also work but TP-Link is more complex and avoid Ubquiti. MAP-T is only an issue if the router advertises it supports it but in general MAP-T is not an issue for most users unless you use a company VPN even then many are OK.
You will losecthe use of the Sky voice line as thst requires a Sky hub connected directly to the line.

Thanks @Chrisee . Will get an asus router then since don't use sky voice. Been extremely underwhelmed by skys router settings/layout especially with how they moved some features over to mobile app.
