I use 3 different speed test agencies but pay more attention to Uswitch though the others usually show lower speeds. Every time I do a test on Uswitchthe server changes, always between one of the London 3 servers or one of the Frankfurt 3 servers. The Frankfurts speeds range from 28 to 50 mbps and the Londons 50 to 158, averaging about 100. Since there are periods when the wi-fi is snail pace and doing a number of tests close together throwing up random servers with dramatically different speeds, I can never depend on the service being optimal.
I have taken dozens of readings at all hours of the day and night and can find no pattern. Speed tests through the Sky website declare the system to be Hunky Dory but it ain't so. Considering I'm paying for the Ultrafast Full Fibre 150 this feels unacceptable. The othe test methods connect to other servers including nearby Edinburgh. I could live with the service if it was constant and over 100 but this absolutely random service is doing my nut.
Any suggestions?

Find out more@80ydy if the device you are running the test on is connected by WiFi part of the reason for the variation is because you are measuring the WiFi speed in your home which is lower than the connection to the hub. Given WiFi speeds are affected by the layout and type of construction in your home Sky cannot guarantee the result. If you want a reliable test use a device networked by a gigabit Etgernet connection with nothing else connected.
Speed testers vary but Speedtest.net from OOkla is pretty reliable as it use various servers reasonably locally to you - you want to test the Sky connection not the routing to a server in a different country.

Sitting right next to the hub with my laptop on wifi

Ok. Thanks for that. I have tried on occasion with ethernet cable and Ookla is one of the test methods. It is reasonably consistent and connects regularly with nearby servers but rarely beats 65 Mbps
