sky router on Ultra fast

Do I have to use the sky router because it is not very good, 150 mb coming into the house but the wifi round the house is very very poor and not consistent  can go down to below 3 mb per second once you hard wire it using home plugs up to 143.2 in all rooms but it is untidy and should not be necessary. if i went out and purchased an expensive nighthawk or linksey router can i use this instead of the sky standard broadband router.

It would depend on whether your connection is ultrafast via g.fast with a modified mastersocket or fttp with an ont

With g.fast you will need a g.fast modem in addition to your chosen router and with the fttp you can just plug your chosen router into the ont.

In addition we have found greater success with the asus rt ax range starting with asus rt ax56u and above

Re: sky router on Ultra fast

Not sure if this post is still active, just I was thinking about replacing my standard sky ultra fast plus router, I've currently got the fttp with ONT set up.

Do you think it'd worth upgrading the router to a third party if I'd see much of a speed difference? And what price level would I have to look at in terms of routers to out spec the standard sky one?
