Re: sky full fibre broadband
Any asus rt ax wifi 6 router will replace the sky router but you will lose the sky internet calls . They can also be used alongside the sr203 in access point mode to mesh your house and have better coverage than the sky supplied wifi 5 booster boxes
Look at the
Asus rt ax56u
Asus rt ax58u
Asus rt ax68u
Asus rt ax82u
Asus rt ax86u
Asus rt ax88u
And the asus zenwifi range of routers

If I get it wrong humour me
If I say something you like give a thumbs up

Re: sky full fibre broadband
On fttp all landline phones are plugged into the back of sr203 hub and are delivered via internet rather than the copper landline.

Re: sky full fibre broadband
We do have a landline but the phone is never connected because we don't use it
So not worried if we lose this

Re: sky full fibre broadband
So we ordered sky fibre ultrafast plus
The next day opened front door and BT have installed a new BT box on wall but no ONT box
The new box has a pipe running down with some sort of sponge inside the pipe any idea what this is
Also when sky come out to do there installation do they supply the ONT box.

That's the external CSP (Customer Service Point) enclosure which contains (or will contain) the spooled end of the fibre-optic drop cable and its fusion splice onto a fibre pigtail, a wall-mounted cable shield, a circular plastic underground duct and a duct plug to discourage debris/water/rodent passage.

Or it might be Sky if you have one of their relatively rare fusion-splice trained operatives working locally.

Re: sky full fibre broadband
Incidentally the CSP is a surprisingly sophisticated little box.

Re: sky full fibre broadband
I assume , given congested duct with kci2 install, that they have managed to thread the fibre through or they wouldn't have got that far. Or have they decided to work backwards from the wall preparing for another team to deal with that

LOL. Exactly what i said to kn circet who did our mdu via rod and roping some 40 metres of fibre. "How do you get fibre 40m down a conduit "
"Oh" they said "throw down some chocolate and tether the fibre to a rat"
Openreach and their subcontractors over here sure like their banter😁

Yup: I suspect it's the required handling skills and animal welfare concerns which prevents it being more widely used.
Actually, Boeing appears to deny it (perhaps not a surprise) but Felicia the Fermi rodent is well documented.
