I have been having major issues with connections dropping out on my broadband/wifi for months. The past few months my wifi is capped at 60MB/s whilst I pay for 150, if I get connection at all.
the app and the sky says everything is in order, whilst my wifi hasn't connected in over an hour. This thing is obviously gaslighting you when it doesn't work at all.

I'd suggest there have been bigger lies. Unfortunately the Service Checker just isn't very good.
If you have 150Mbs FTTP then you aren't paying for 150Mbs WiFi: the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' (for WiFi Max subscribers) is a whole 25 Mbs.
