question re sky wifi boosters
Hi
I am aware that the Sky Q Mini Boxes act as Wifi boosters. My first question is, can a booster take its feed from another booster, or is it from the hub only? In other words could you say use a couple of boosters to get a wifi signal to the bottom of your garden for instance? I am aware there may be a speed sacrifice by doing this.
My second question is this, does the Sky Q main box also act as a wifi booster, or is it only the mini's?
Many Thanks in advance.

Re: question re sky wifi boosters
When Sky is the ISP, all Q television boxes become wireless hotspots and form their own mesh (which can be set up as a daisy chain). If another ISP is in use the function can be activated manually, although it operates in a more limited form.
The issue with reaching 'the bottom of the garden' is that you'd really need a Mini box halfway, and they aren't particularly waterproof...
'Booster' isn't a very good name: 'relay' or 'repeater' would be more accurate.

Re: question re sky wifi boosters
Thanks for your reply.
So just so I am clear, the Sky Q main box does 'boost' the WIFI signal then in addition to the mini's?
Re the daisy chaining them together, that's cleared things up thank you. Noted of course re waterproofing etc, I was thinking of siting one in the garage which is more or less halfway 🙂
Thanks again 🙂

Re: question re sky wifi boosters
@jghomer if you want. A more reliable sognal at the botyom of the garden using a set of poerline adapters tgat use the. Mains wiring to carry the data maybe a good idea plugging the Q mini into those to give both TV and Wifi.
