openreach can't connect too building

openreach have been today to install first part today, But they say they can't get cable to building and will need to dig up path.

Even though they said there is a connection into property. My swich on date is 31st dec and my virgin runs out 31st dec what happens next?

If they cannot connect.

@peter19711 If you only contacted sky and they are doing it all via the OTS, then sky will not inform VM until they have your connection.

If you cancelled with VM by yourself then they will cut you off and you will have nothing until OR resolve how to connect you up!

so do i speak too virgin media and try and keep my broadband? i don't want to have 2 contracts i can't afford that hence why i'm switching in 1st place. And sky just keep saying i will be switched on 31st but won't tell me what happens if i end up with no internet.

@peter19711 You have not said what you did, so if sky say then and it does not happen how can anyone say....

VM will want you to re-contract with them, if you used the OTS One Touch Service then until sky contact VM they keep the service up, that is what is supposed to happen....

If you cancelled VM then all bets are off with the connection!

yes sky have told virgin it will switch on 31st and virgin tried to do me a better deal which i said no too as it wasn't. so everything with virgin ends on 31st.

how can it be seemless if openreach cannot connect their cable to the house for broadband?

@peter19711 the delayed switch over should delay thexswitch off by Virgin read the lonk I posted as thesexdelays is one of tge reasons Ofcom introduced tge One Touch Switching system.

@peter19711 If you do find yourself cut off, then it's all down to VM that is were you go, would NOT expect OR civils to do it in such a short period off time now but you just never know!
