not getting garuanteed download speed for months now

supposed to get 60.04 download garuanteed but for months now has been below contacted sky and go through same ritual each time which is about 5 times now and still same have had a reduction in bill for one month only and now sky want me to enter a new contract with a super wifi router for 18 months

@johnthesparky increasingly we are seeing similar reports. The speed a copper phone line can deliver is down to the length and condition of the Openreach line from the cabinet to your property. This line can be decades old and there is a limit to what Openreach can, or are willing, to do to get it to deliver the guaranteed speed.  Openreach appear less willing to do anything more than minor work on the copper network as it is planned to be decommissioned once full fibre is in place which could be years away..

Where this is the position Sky should release you from contract which is only of use if you have an alternative network like Virvgin Media to switch to. Switching to any other isp using the Openreach line is pointless as although they may promise the moon in practice you will get the same speeds as Sky deliver.
