no sign of Openreach, no contact from sky....

Hi all,

I ordered sky fibre 500 in January and March 4th is my date for the Sky engineer to visit.

I have been paying ful price for something i havent yet used since ordering.

There has been no sign or contact from either Openreach to fit the outside grey box-- via overhead cables--, and sign of any new hub.

Its within 7 days so im guessing i will hear nothing from anyone, the the sky engineer will turn up and cant co tinue cos openreach havent been.

i have read on here of people recieving texts from sky and openreach about visits.

I have tried to look for a way to contact sky other than calling but theres nothing..not a single link, and the virual assistants a joke.

Things arent looking positive. What do i do other than wait?.

@phil+diesel

If it's in the UK, putting the address into the BT Wholesale Availability Checker should indicate which provisioning type is applicable.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

It's the table and the two text lines below it which are most useful.

Remove any personal information (such as the address itself) if you post an image.

@phil+diesel the fibre install is down as one step install so the engineers who come to install the system will also run the cable from the pole with the fibre connection to you home. This is 100% normal for straight forward fibre jobs which most overhead feeds are. Sky's engineers are trained to do the whole one stage install.

However you should not be paying for the new service yet if you currently have a FTTC servicecthe billing for that will be continuing the new servicecwill start being charged the day it goes live.
