i have recently moved to a new build property but trouble is BT open reach fibre connection is in cupboard .. so i have to put router in there .. apparently its very common in new builds to have full fibre connection in a cupboard .. so i place my sky max router on there .. but i don't see the point of putting my house phone in there too as i would never get to it in time to answer it .. even if i did hear it ..
problem is my elderly parents only like to phone house phone and not mobile .. i've tried to convince them .. so at the minute i don't. have a connected house phone .. i know BT have overcome this problem with a digital voice adapter that enables you to plug house phone into it any where in the house as it connects wirelessly to the router ..but apparently will only work with BT router .. just wondered if sky do a similar device

That appears to be correct. My son has just moved into a new build where the router is in a 'media cupboard' along with the washing machine, electric car charger equipment and solar panel main switches. At present he has an old corded phone in there but doesn't intend to use the landline phone much but may purchase a cordless phone for in there and then a linked cordless phone which will plug into a mains socket somewhere else…

These types of installation also often have a patch panel in the cupboard with ethernet ports in rooms. If you have that arrangement you could connect the ONY to the patch panel & then have the router in the room of your choice.
If not, just running an ethernet cable outside the cupboard would achieve the same.
Only other option is a cordless phone with the base station in the cupboard. BT's DV system runs on the same DECT system as cordless phones as well as a physical port on the Hub. Sky don't have this.

No: of all the ISPs only BT has that lengthy heritage (over a century) in telephony and handsets.
As @FLC indicates, plugging a DECT base into the Hub is definitely viable. At least one brand has a base station without its own handset.
