no broadband

my internet went off few hours ago but checking says no problems in area ?

It could be local maintenance which is usually done overnight when most people are not using the internet.

My internet is off from 2 hours in the middle of a working day. Very unpleasant. 
checking online and says no issues in the area but clearly there is.

Important to note that 'no issues in the area' does not mean no fault or discontinuity with the circuit to your particular address: it's indicating there's no known wider problem affecting multiple addresses.

Checked the status online now and it shows as "outage in your area".
