Hi @Chrisee thanks for replying back, I've went back to my old Sky router, I can see what's having issues with the 4 individual light for power, internet, WiFi and phone. Don't like the white router is subscription based. I have full speed when left overnight.

Find out more@alistair.mck the extra payment is not for thehub itself rather its for a bundle of services called Sky WiFi Max see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max if you dont want those services including loan of up to 3 extenders you can reject the bundle in the first 31 days but you keep the hub - your old black hub goes back in either case. The light on the new hub gives the same information in a different way see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/hub-lights-explained-max-hub

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@alistair.mck simply because the agent was confused. Both hubs can easily offer 500Mb/s. The problem was the ethernet cable to the ONT which for whatever reason only gave "fast ethernet" ie 100Mb/s the colour is irrelevant it was either an old cable with only 4 of the 8 pins connected or had a broken core. A Cat5e cable should deliver Gigabit speeds as all 8 pins are wired.

hi @Chrisee thanks for replying so fast, so just to confirm all my current equipment/cables are fully compatible even on the 900mb package ? during the 1 hour time i did use the white router, thought it was very sluggish on wifi. more i go each thread on the sky broadband forum i'm reading more bad reports than good on the white router, e.g. connection dropouts on the sky q minis etc and people changing back to black router. think going to do the same and keep my current setup unitill sky repease a better router that uses the sky q mesh system again
