Hi,
I'm having issue with my wifi. Since Friday I've had issues using my mobile android devices over wifi specifically with the youtube app which continually buffers (it does not over data and if I use youtube using a browser). Also I can not update any apps over wifi using the play store. It downloads a %, sometimes upto 90%, then just pends until I get an unable to update error message - again it works over data. I've done the usual of resetting the router, unplugging for several hours, restarting my devices, signing out of google, clearing cache and data, done the broadband and wifi checker on the sky app and the broadband shield is already disabled. I also saw a poster with similar issues to mine last year and enabling/switching to IPV6 resolved their issues. I checked my router and I'm already on this (from what I could tell, going that deep into the router settings is beyond my technical ability) I tried someone else's wifi today with no issues, all my apps updated and youtube played fine.
Thanks

We're having the same issue too withh google play store. Apps update over mobile data but not our sky wifi. Issue is common on two phones and 3 tablets.

Hi,
I normally don't comment on forums and just created a profile to investigate the exact same issue I've been having since last Friday.
I have a feeling this is gonna be the start of a long winded back and forth with Sky as is the case more often than not.
My Youtube, SkyGo and downloads are slow or don't work. Sometimes on lower resolutions the videos may play on Youtube, but it doesn't work at all on the SkyGo app and neither does it let me complete any downloads. When I switch to mobile date the connection and speeds pick up right away.
The Sky health checker and speeds show no issue and even thr Youtube app on the TV and Sky Q work ok which means it's only affecting certain devices which is weird..... I had this same issue with them over 10 years ago as well...
So I called Sky yesterday, they did their usual checks, most of which I did anyway. An engineer visit was booked for tomorrow Friday 17th. I then get a text this morning to say the visit has been cancelled as there is an outage in my area. What is confusing is no errors came on their service checker to show any errors since the problem or even today... so I wanted to query how Sky have seen an outage and their app not show anything to me?
I got through to an advisor who didn't seem to fully grasp what I was saying and she just reiterated what the text said about the 24 hours, I said no problem and will give them the benefit of doubt. The advisor alsp stated this outage is linked with Openreach and that after 24 hrs the engineer will contact me once the checks have been done.
I'm letting Sky do their check and making a record of things because I feel like this could end up being a BIG complaint.
Please do get in touch with them explaining ur exact issue and keep us posted here. The more awareness we raise on such issues and their poor service, the better!

Same in West Yorkshire having issues with play store, you tube buffering, and sky downloads programmes etc
Plus other family members also having same issues. When I'm not using my home WiFi and I use a cafe WiFi or my 5g it works fine! The issue is with sky!

I'm having the same problem..... something has clearly changed since Thursday 16th Jan. I'm also in West Yorkshire.
My HP Chromebook has also had mysterious WiFi connection issues with the sky router. It randomly disconnects after a few minutes.

I'm in W Yorks too and same with me, been about a week now, WiFi elsewhere and phone data is fine so definitely a sky issue!

Same here. I'm in Wakefield and we've been experiencing the issue for over a week. This really needs sorting.
