If it finds an external fault it should enable you to book an engineer.

Seeing eactly the same. Log file shows 17 drops of the ADSL (VDSL) connection today so far.
Had the same on Saturday night - apparently it was fixed on Sunday morning. Log file can be provided since I have copied it locally.
