hi so i’ve just gotten the normal sky broadband but my brothers computer only works when it’s connec

hi so i've just gotten the normal sky broadband i was originally with bt and my brothers gaming computer only works on an intfernet cable, we had a booster in his room from bt with a cable that connected to his computer. can anyone suggest something i can get from sky with the cable to connect to his computer as i was looking at the broadband booster and the wifi max but i'm confused on the difference between the two and which one would actually work. thankyou in advance

Broadband Boost and WiFi Max are both subscription supplements which offer additional service, including the potential to claim wireless booster hardware.

Note that neither is actually intended to provide a wireless to wired bridge: the booster hardware provided might be capable of doing so, but it's not guaranteed.

As a start, which model of Sky Hub are you currently using?

ive got the sky broadband hub also do the sky max come with a cable if both the booster and max are practically the same thing?

Broadband Boost and WiFi Max are different products with different hardware.

The original booster supplied under Broadband Boost permitted a cabled connection, but the v2 hardware does not.

oh i see. so i would need the booster and not the wifi max, id need to call them for this im guessing?

You can try, but Sky doesn't have to loan a booster just to provide a cabled connection, and they are going to want more money.

Also note that even if you choose to pay, you're likely to receive hardware which won't have the necessary ethernet socket.
