had fibre fitted today and hasn't improved the wifi

had sky fibre installed today , and the connection is still no better. The enginner who carried out the work completed tests and said that the wifi was a lot better. Does it need to be activated in some way

@DonnaMitchell76

Have you moved to full fibre

Could you post your hub stats to see if the fibre is activated

@DonnaMitchell76

Have you upgraded from one package to another?

What were you hoping to improve by upgrading?

Upgrading to fibre does not mean the actual performance of your WiFi connections will improve as this is down the local factors such as router, devices, neighbouring routers, interference etc.

If you  have  full fibre  to the property  then your Internet  speed will  be faster, if you  have  fttp then you  will  have  a grey open reach  box outside  the  house  and an o n t box  in the house  which you could  have put where you  wanted  it  and the open reach  master socket  where the hub and home phone  was plugged  in with  the two  sockets  will  not work anymore  full fibre  speeds with  sky start at over 100mps, if you are still  plugged  in to the open reach  master socket  then it's  not full fibre  o n t stands for optical  network  terminal it's  a small white  box  and has two solid  green lights and one  green flashing , run a service  check  on  the  my  sky app to see  what  speed you are getting,  I check from sky superfast  to full fibre  last month  500mps  and no drop out or wifi problems,  you can also go on YouTube  and search  full fibre  broadband and how it is installed

Also so you can see what speed your  tv is getting  if you  have  Netflix, by opening  the  app  and going  to get help, open  ot and go down  to check  your  network  and run a speed  test there, and will  give you  what broadband  speed  your Netflixs  / tv is receiving
