gigafast wifi speed not what is promised

i have gigafast but internet speed is no where near what is promised even with ethernet normally i get around 11 Megabits per second but on speed tests it will say 50 when i pay for min 600

@jameson2002 full fibre services are not affected by line issues like the older services over copper lines so if you buy Gigafast you should get around 1,000 Mb/s at the hub. Due to network overheads a speed test run on a device with a gigabit ethernet connection should be around 900Mb/s. 

While rarely there have been cases where Sky have made an error in configuring your connection these are very rare. Therefore as a first step I would check that the device you are using to test the ethernet speeds is connected by a direct ethernet cable and its port is configured to support gigabit speeds. 11 Mb/s is suspicously slow. Use a  speed test like Speedtest.net. If that delivers a speed around 90Mb/s check the devices ethernet port is not set to 100Mb/s or "fast ethernet".

Checks run over wifi or via devices like powerline adapters are more likely showing the speed of the link in your home. The older black Sky SR203 Sky hub should be able to deliver 600Mb/s to a device over wifi to devices inntge same room but wifi speeds inevtiably drop in rooms further away. 

Before Sky are likely to take your complaint seriously

I had gigafast  broadband  installed  in January this  year , it full fibre  to  the  property,  and have had no problems  with  it , I normally  get 800mps on speed test,

I have checked using Speedtest.net. it gave me 90Mb/s but there is limit on my port its set to 2.5Gb/s and is rated to 2.5Gb/s i am also using cat 6 10Gb/s cable connected directly to my router  over wifi i am getting 30Mb/s in the same room as the router I cant see this being on my end it has been like this since july 23 when i got sky

Have you actually checked what your PC is negotiating the ethernet speed at as that sounds suspiciously like your PC is limiting it to 10/100mbps.

yes i have checked and it says it limited to 1Gb so i dont know what else it could be

Go the your router interface and go to ethernet and check that its set to gigabit and not fast

Okay would be useful if you could post a screenshot of a speedtest taken on speedtest.net as well as your router stats at the time.

as i stated before I dont have permission to post photos and im pretty sure I posted the speedtest.net results already and if your going to ask for more infomation like router stats please tell me where to find them so i dont have to google and hope im looking at the right thing so I know we are on the same page
