can my sr203 router do port forwarding

Hi all 1st post and been looking through the internet and tried several things with no luck  .Im looking to foward some ports 31400-31409 on 1 spare computer  using sr203 router.i just have 2 pcs wired to the router nothing else .

.I keep seeing things about having a static ip so not sure i have it?.ive tried to create a rule in the router firewall services settings but its not working.

also tried to set up dmz but that didnt work so reset router

In the inbound ipv4 rules service  what does this mean "It is not possible to configure inbound firewall rule in carrier grade network connections.". ..soo many questions lol

Im not very tech savvy but would like to know if im just wasting my time so i can give up trying as i cant get the ports to open. Also seen some posts saying the older square sr102 routers could do it which i do still have somewhere.

sorry if this has been asked before and thanks in advance

Hi @neptune808

Could you tell us what the reason for fowarding the ports is? Could you also post what configuration you have done on the Sky hub so far?

The PC you are forwarding the ports to ideally needs a static local IP which can be configured on the PCs network adapter or on the Sky hub.

Re: can my sr203 router do port forwarding

Hi James sorry i was away and thanks for reply .I think the ports are open after much faffing about lol.I used (simple port forward tool)and swapped my new sr203 for the older sr102 router model .I also used a static ip and reserved the pc i wanted to use.

I  dont know if i can post links but the thing i was doing was a (pi node)  .It was a bit too techy for me but got it working in the end i think .Not sure if i could have used the new router as the setup pages look just the same.Like i say it seems to be working so will wait and see .

many thanks again
