broadband/wifi is down. South East London

My broadband/wifi is down. South East London. Has hppened a few times now and its more than frustrating when all their checks say everything is working perfectly fine and as it should! Clearly not! Always the same. I have no tv ariel either so i'm stuck in silence. Does anyone know if this is area specific again?

Bexley/Dartford boarder. I think last time it went down it was this area. there is nothing i seem to be able to do to report it because the tests all say everything is perfectly fine and functioning.

When there are issues between midnight and 7am it's quite possibly going to be essential overnight maintenance taking place which is carried out then to minimise disruption as most customers are asleep. Hopefully it'll be back before 7.

But I get this most nights, do they do maintenance most nights? My friends who are also on the same sleep schedule don't seem to have the same issue with other providers.

Also, if it is planned maintenance, can't sky post something on their page or the app to give some warning? Not everyone has the same sleep schedule or work schedule and contingencies may need to be made for security systems that leave people vulnerable.

Sky don't announce planned maintenance in advance and to be honest they probably don't know it's about to happen either. It's better doing it then than at 2pm.

Sky is the second largest broadband provider in the UK with close to 6 million customers... I suspect that the sheer volume of customers and traffic neccesitate overnight and other maintenance.

I'm with an ISP that has circa 11K customers and uses the broadband wholesaler Entanet for their broadband (Openreach). 

While different ISPs use the same physical cables, the difference between ISPs can be much more than price.

Andrews & Arnold is regarded by some as  being the best residential ISP in the UK, which is reflected in their prices.

My ISP (Aquiss)  is more expensive than Sky and in the 3 years I have been with them, I cannot recall any incident of my broadband being down overnight for maintenance. My partner I use black screen ambient YouTube videos on our respect Echo Show 5s to help us to sleep. Further, Aquiss  notifies customers on its WhatsApp community page of any planned maintenance work.

Sky provides reliable broadband for the vast majority of its 6 million customers, however, people who work from home, all night gamers, etc might need to consider other ISPs.

Its just getting frustrating lately where I don't have any access to communal aerials or any form of tv/noise. I'm not on the standard schedule either. I get that most are on the 7-12 sort of thing but a lot arent still, even an apology or notification to say it went down for maintenance would be better than nothing at all.
