broadband speed rubbish,- just a text saying i can cancel if i want as they cant fix it
my broadband speed was under guaranteed speed 3 days running last week and now this week im on second day again of rubbish speeds, open reach came out and changed wall socket and fiddled at the cabinet up the road but didtnt actually know what the fault was, speed was good after his fiddling now its nose dived again, got the usual response on line---------please try this & try that....waste of time, but cant seem to talk to a human to resolve it, losing the will now, just got a text saying theres issues with my speed but theyve been unable to fix it & i have the right to cancel it........thats not helpful is it?

@bobby+shop we are seeing more similar reports what is happening Sky have asked Openreach to do work so your line will meet the minimum speed gusrantee. Openreach have taken a look and said they won't do the work. The reason for the increase is Openreach are planning to decommission the copper network once full fibre is in place so are reluctant to do any more work on the copper lines.
It is not something or any isp can do anything about but be warned when looking at other ISPs any like EE wiho use the Openreach network they will use the same slow line and while they msy quote faster spedds in practice you will get the same result. The only way to get a faster service is to switch to a provider like Virgin who use a different network. Mobike broadband can also be an alternative.

Yes I know how it all works as Im an ex Openreach/BT employee, quoting-waiting for further future fibre lines is not an acceptable response, its either a guaranteed fit for purpose service or its not. I have sky mobile & sky broadband neither of which are performing, no 4G in my area and one bar phone signal on my mobile and no one listening to me at the moment, just opting out saying i can cancel as already said is not helpful at best, Ill try ringing a human again & see if both services can be made useable or at least a working resolve first as I work from home & rely on the services, very poor in my view at this stage

Ive had the similar problem. Was told I'd get 50-70mb speed and 45mb minimum guarantee. But had no more than 43.1 or 43.5. I was in the phone to an adviser for more then 1hr 30 mins in 2 occasions and each time I got told that I was getting the guaranteed speed. 😞
Most days I have problems:- pictures n sound out if sync, can't rewind-keeps jumping to the ads amongst other issues.
The last 3 days just says no signal. The last 2 days the picture just kept flashing until I switched everything off and on a couple of times before it was resolved.
I also was told I could cancel. Is that the answer??

Then you'll know the only actual 'guarantee' is the Universal Service Obligation of 10Mbs inbound and 1Mbs outbound, from the USO providers which are BT and Kcom.
All Openreach ISPs except BT can offer early exit where a circuit cannot provide the 'guaranteed' minimum speed: the customer can choose to accept this or not, but cannot insist that the speed is actually delivered.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
