broadband shield it says come back once your broadband has been activated

Hi, my broadband has been activated for the past 15 years, yet my broadband shield settings link is greyed out and I get this message....

 

'Come back once your broadband has been activated'

 

 

Any help would be much apreciated.

I should also point out I am the named account holder, and my SkyID is linked to my account.

 

I also only have Sky Fibre, no TV.

I see this topic is marked as answered but i dont see the answer anywhere?

Did you ever get this sorted and if so how?

The same thing has happened to me now and i rang sky but they just said they see the same thing on their end when they look on my account and that it was a global issue and dont know when it will be fixed

But if it was global then i would have thought a lot more people would be reporting it on here but i have only seen a few instances of this same report

The strange thing is that i can use the broadband shield settings via the mysky app,but on my account on the web it is greyed out and says come back when your broadband has been activated

@mc321 the intial user marked the thread as answered which I have changed. Sky systems do go down occasionally but currently the Broadband shield setting saved for me via the app. Usual advice is to log out and close the app and try again from scratch.

Hi @Chrisee thanks for unmarking the topic

As explained though,the issue for me is not the app,i can access the broadband shield settings from the app,the issue is the same as the initial post,its via the sky website in my account.The option for broadband shield in there is greyed out with the message to come back when my broadband has been activated (which i have had sky broadband since the dawn of time so its always been activated)

Appologies mc321, I'm not sure how it was fixed but I uaually login with my email.

 

This time I logged in with my Sky ID user name, and instead of scrolling down to view my 'Your products'

 

I clicked on my avatar (top right) then on 'My details'

 

On that page then clicked on my avatar again then on 'Product settings' and...

 

...the Broadbans Shield was no longer greyed out.

This seems repeatable.

 

Going to product settings from the initial login landing page the Broadband Shield is greyed out with message.

 

Following the above method the Broadband Shield id is in colour ans clickable.

I just tried to get to the product settings page like you said but its still the same greyed out for me

I was told earlier today that it was because i have an old hub thats why i cant use broadband shield settings when i log into my account online and that when my new hub arrives (which i ordered this week as per the email from sky about no longer getting security updates after the end of the year) then when i plug that in i will be able to access the broadband shield settings once again.

Well the new one arrived and is plugged in and working and....still the same problem,the broadband shield settings are still greyed out and the message is still the same about coming back once the broadband is activated.

Anybody got any ideas how to solve this as i am getting nowhere fast and have been told 2 different things by 2 different sky advisers now

@mc321 Have you done it by trying the logon to your account, drop the box down from your inital, goto the your products and see what you get then!

Hi @JimM1  yes i have tried both where it says my sky and then choosing product settings from the horizontal menu on there and also by clicking my initial and from the drop down menu i choose my details and then click the drop down again and chose product settings from there and then broadband and talk from that page and it takes me to the same screen with the option still greyed out and the same message in the box about coming back when broadband has been activated.

@mc321 Only time i have seen it like that then the BB account is not linked to all poducts, had similar when mobile account could see everything, but the BB was out in left field, once i synced it all everything was fine, will see if i can find the link again!

 

Edit:- have a look at the link below see if it helps web wise, i never use or even have the stupid app installed anywhere.

Thanks for any help because sky have been no help at all

The strange thing is that i can get to thebroadband shield settings fine in the mysky app,just not through the sky website,as mentioned it is greyed out with that message you can see in the picture

Thanks for trying to help.I followed the link and when it gets to the point that says how to link your account,it just takes you to the sky page with manage your products on it,same page as when you log in,so no joy here im afraid.

Thanks again for trying to help,im convinced its something on skys end but trying to talk to someone who can fix it is another matter
