Worst connectivity since fibre upgrade

I recently upgraded to Full Fibre 150 (which is double of the signal I had before) but while my previous connectivity was good, since the fibre updgrade the connectivity is worst, especially when having video conferences. The video freezes constantly. I have tested the service and it seems all is good. There are no other apps connected to the wifi, just my laptop, and even like that the connectivity hasn't improved. Any advise?

Not apps, I meant devices

@Pil What happens if you move closer to the hub with your laptop, is it any better?

Re: Worst connectivity since fibre upgrade

The signal is better if closer to the hub, which means it is not reaching as far as it used to before being fibre. I work from the first floor room and I never had these issues. I did expect fobre to be better. What is the solution in this case?

@Pil Did the position off your hub change when you got the Fibre installed from where it was before?

No, it is in the same place (right next to the front house door) as that's where we have the ONT box

@Pil No change to router/hub, no change to position, then there should be no difference in your wireless wi-fi signal!

Re: Worst connectivity since fibre upgrade

I know, that's the weirdest thing, that I thoght fibre would be better and it is actually worst in my case. Do you think a Wi-Fi booster would help?

Re: Worst connectivity since fibre upgrade

@Pil Cannot see why, the only difference you have is copper was removed from your router, you connected to a Fibre ONT, and you say nothing else has changed, was good before the change, and all you have done is upped the potential speed to the router to the 150mb/s.

If you are on the Sky Max subscription then if you need a booster, sky can and will determine that by test, and you need to call them to get that option moving.

@Pil

Have you tried using an ethernet cable just to see if the problem is the line/router rather than the WiFi?

Re: Worst connectivity since fibre upgrade

Humm, my router never changed after I upgraded to fibre, do I take it as Sky should have provided me with a new one that would be compatible with fibre?

@Pil

No older Sky hubs are compatible with FTTP. The Sky max hub is provided with higher speed packages or the WiFi max subscription
