Work laptop suddenly won't connect to home broadband

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas - I mostly work from home and use a Dell laptop provided by my company and it has connected to my home broadband without any issues until yesterday.

It suddenly stopped working and if i connected to Wifi it would say "connected , secured" but I would not be able to load any pages or do anything onlone. It then changes to "no internet, secured". But strangely it connects and I get normal speeds for about 3 minutes every hour before it drops again.

I spoke to my work IT department and they tried lots of things, changing settings etc, forgetting the network and reconnecting, running commands prompts to flushdns etc but that didn't work so they directed me to Sky. I spoke with an advisor yesterday who reset everything and said that he could see nothing that is blocking my connection.

So I am now at a loss how to try and resolve this. I have noticed that wehn it is connected and working it is on internet band 2.4ghz but it then changes to 5ghz and I lose connection.

There must be something which has automatically changed in seetings soemwhere, either on Sky side or on my work laptop but I have no idea what that is.

So just wondering if anyone has expeirenced similar and has any suggestions of things to try?

Many thanks in advance.

Your best troubleshooting step would be to either go to an office location if you have one or another place with a WiFi connection to see if the laptop behaves the same there. Then you know if the issue is the laptop or your home WiFi.

Thanks. I should have added that WiFi is working fine and all other devices and laptops work perfectly. Just the work laptop that doesn't connect.

That doesnt change my response, you need to test the laptop in a different environment first so you know if its the laptop or your specific WiFi routers interaction with the laptop.
