Wiring from Openreach socket to router inside house
Hi there. We are scheduled to have our broadband services connected later this month. The router will be located in the middle
of the room, next to a chimney breast and away from external walls. We do not want exposed wires from the master socket e.g along the top of skirting boards and over our internal kitchen door to the router, which I suspect they would propose doing. But our electrician said that he could run the internal cabling, which he can hide, ahead of the visit so the engineer can just connect. Does anyone know what internal cabling is used so I can advise our electrician?
Thanks!

Re: Wiring from Openreach socket to router inside house
Openreach will not used self-run copper cabling up to a master socket, or private fibre before an ONT. That portion of connectivity is still the Openreach national network and not amenable to DIY or private ownership. Past the socket or ONT is up to you.
