Will switching to SKY broadband from Virgin Media require a new line into the house?
We have had Virgin Media fibre for over ten years and it comes into the house on one side and then a cable in the ceiling runs across to the other side where the Virgin Media router/hub is located. I cannot find any articles explaining whether sky will need to put a new connection into the house, or upgrade the existing box on the outside as the fibre connection with Virgin Media has been in place for a long time? Obviously, if they do, this will create a further problem with running it across to the other side of the house where the router/hub is located within an electric cupboard containing all the network cable. I could really do with some input on whether this will be the case and moving to sky will actually be a bigger problem despite the cost saving?
Thanks for any help out there.

@Das43 Sky do not use the same cables Virgin uses so your existing cables become redundant. Sky will use either an Openreach or City Fibre connection depending on which are available in your road.
Assuming a new fibre supply is required you have limited ability to say where it will enter your home due to limitation in how fibre can be run. The network who pays for the install limit what work they will do. It is impossible to get a firm answer until the engineer is on site and can tell what is practical.. You can cancel if what is offered is not acceptable.
