Is this a recent issue, or has this been happening during your broadband install?

It has always been there as an issue.  Im thinking that there is a 'throttling' of the broadband at times when they think nobody is using it?

No, that wouldn't provide any technical or financial benefit to the ISP.  There's sometimes overnight internet maintenance though, and a known phenomenon where households with Q television see their WiFi coverage drops as the boxes go into their power saving mode at 02:30.

This has been resolved my main Sky Q hub was in ECO mode which means that it goes to 'sleep' during 2am-6am.   I have changed to normal mode and issue resolved.
