Wifi keeps disconnecting from one room to another, range is poor
I have just switched to sky and have noted that the range and connectivity are not great. As we move from one room to another the wifi keeps dropping. Very limited range to the back rooms.
Also, need to manually connect to wifi if you come back home!!

Re: Wifi keeps disconnecting from one room to another, range is poor
We have the same issue. we have two miniboxes as well as the sky q box. The wifi drops when we move room. We have to disconnect and reconnect. Sometimes it won't reconnect for a minute or so and uses mobile data instead. Also, we have a bedroom above a room with a minibox in and the wifi either continualy drops or doesn't connect at all. I'm thinking that the miniboxes aren't acting as wifi hotspots at all.
what's the solution?

@ColWil13 Have a look on the mini box Engineering menu and see if the Hotspot feature is off or on, the Sky Broadband hub, Main sky Q TV box and the Mini's all play together in the mesh network!

I found the 'hidden menu', settings, 001 etc.
We have the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz options both "on", but I don't see anything about Hotspots.

Re: Wifi keeps disconnecting from one room to another, range is poor
Thanks for the link. I checked main sky q box and all mini boxes and I don't see anything to do with hotspots.
A google search suggests that as I have Sky broadband/wifi the option is permanently on and the hotspots option isn't available.
So, not sure why the WiFi keeps dropping as we move around the house and why it's sometimes weak even when quite close to a mini box.
we have both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz enabled on all boxes.

Re: Wifi keeps disconnecting from one room to another, range is poor
@ColWil13 Sky Q tv booxes will only have wifi hotspot functionality for third party devices with a compatable black Sky hub they dont work with the white Sky hubs which require matched extender pods which can come as part of the WiFi Max package.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

@ColWil13 Can you confirm that you are using the sky Broadband Hub for the connection, linked below the sky hub's if you are not sure.

@ColWil13 You have everything that is required then to have Q and the mini's hotspot the wireless wi-fi. See if the other link helps!
If you have a wi-fi scanner app on a mobile, you should be able to see all the signals from each device, Hub,Q, and your two mini's.
