Wifi is rated POOR. This is ever since cable was fitted several weeks ago. I need my wifi to fixed

Cable was fitted to my home and directed to our smart TV. My desktop is now not working properly. a wifi problem and I need it fixed. The engineers said at frist we needed a cable fed along the fron of our hpsue to the front room where desktop is. But then changed their minds and left maintain ing it was all okay. It is not as I keep getting messages like MicrosoftEdge is not responding; fcebook is not responding; etc.

That's not something either Openreach or an ISP will do (unless they were referring to the optical connection between CSP and ONT)
