Re: Wifi in the house

I am having the same problem in my house since Sky offered me the Sky Max when previous Sky entry fibre package ended 1 mouth ago. In the past 7 to 10 days, wifi speed was terrible even there were only a handful of devices connected. Wifi download speed was as poor as 47Mbs @ 11 am off peak. Sometimes was okay, fluctuates between 120 MBs and 280 MBs, no way near min 400 MBs, appreciate speed can Vary. My phone never had wifi issue with the old router with a lower speed, it does now with wifi 6. Reset and rebooted the router as well, no difference. Just spoke to Sky, their line test showed all good, so they are sending me a new Max Hub 6. Will see if it makes any difference. Have to say Sky Services are not quite reliable lately, Sky Q box kept hanging or show no recordings and don't get me started with Sky Protect door camera.

Re: Wifi in the house

@dt138 The hubs are not apples to apples for operation, if you have NO wi-fi6 devices that are able to connect then no need to have a wi-fi6 hub!

Re: Wifi in the house

Hub 6 was offered to me. Frankly I didn't even know it has Wifi6. As it happened, my phone uses WiFi 6 and my work laptop, and noticeably it is my phone has most WiFi issues, spinning circles or WiFi drops off switching to Mobile data etc. Same phone, no issue with old router. Hope its just a faulty router.

Re: Wifi in the house

@dt138 Have a problem with a Samsung A54 falling off with speed only on the Download side, nothing to do with the hub it is purely a phone issue, everything else is running as expected.

When i see it on the mobile, the fix is wi-fi off wait 10 seconds wi-fi on again and back up to full speed.

Re: Wifi in the house

Download speed on my laptop isn't much better. Uses wifi6 and has a good spec.

Maybe there are other causes. But as far as I can tell, nothing has changed in terms of home setups, number of devices between now and 1 month ago, apart from this router.

When writing this message, the Internet radio just went off on my phone on wifi, good connection signal, but no data transfer. 15 seconds late, it came back. Very intermittent.

If anyone has a fix, please share, getting fed up with the disruption. Wired connection to my  router dropped off too, so it's not just my phone and WiFi. So far, everything is pointing at the router, even Sky Q box cant get connection to load tv schedule or my recordings.

Re: Wifi in the house

@dt138 If you have not already done so would suggest you look at dropping the wireless WPA mode back to wpa2-psk for the sky max hub.
