Wifi extender TP-link RE315 unable to connect 5ghz Sky hub
Hello.
I managed to to connect a TP-Link RE315 wifi extender to my Sky hub a few days ago as i was testing my setup. I tried connecting to the router last night even with the extender being right mext to the hub, the wifi extender would not pick up the 5ghz connection. It was picking up my neighbours though.
I went into the router settings and noticed that the 5ghz was locked to channel 157. Can somebody please let me know what i need to do in order to establish a reliable 5ghz connection please? I am now apprehensive that the extender won't work on certain channels and that the router keeps switching between channels. So one day the extender may connect the next it wont.
Thanks very much

@fes37 If the TP-Link will not work or connect in the band range then get the TP-Link tools out and fix it that way!

Re: Wifi extender TP-link RE315 unable to connect 5ghz Sky hub
@fes37 third party extenders are never going to be that great with the white Sky Max hub as those units work best with the matched pod extenders Sky can lend you if you buy their WiFi Max package. If you want to use your TPLink unit connect it to the Sky hubusing an ethernet cable as it should work in bridge mode.

Does not mention what the Frequency range that the older unit supports, but the wi-fi 6 version you just may have to look at with sky push the channel so high,
