WiFi turning on and off and weak connection

My WiFi keeps turning on and off and the connection is so weak. I currently cannot download anything or watch apps such  as Netflix. Even when my WiFi is connected and on,  the signal is so bad that even sitting next to the router doesn't give a better speed. Please help as I pay a lot of money each month for my services
