Re: WiFi not working properly in conservatory
@cadejane Can you say which sky hub you are using, white or black that is sky Max for the White or sky Broadband Hub for the Black?

Re: WiFi not working properly in conservatory
Wifi is notoriously problematic in large properties, especially older ones with solid internal walls. A single router is often not sufficient to cover all rooms (not just Sky but most providers).
So, if you have weak/no wifi in some rooms here are some options that would help:
1. Obtain wifi boosters from Sky (but that may or may not cost you depending on what level of broadband service you are paying for). There are many posts on this forum about obtaining these if you search for "Booster".
2. Invest in further hardware and create your own wifi Mesh with sufficient devices to cover the whole house. There are multiple suppliers you can pick from that all work well, but this can be relatively costly but once invested, a Mesh system would work with any broadband supplier if you eventually move away from Sky.
3. Homeplugs can provide a hardwired solution from your Sky Broadband router to other rooms using your mains wiring, you simply need a power socket near the router and another in the "target" room that then allows devices to be hardwired (or connection of a wifi hotspot inthe target room).
Personally I went with option 2 using Amazon Eero mesh devices as some rooms in our bungalow were just too far away from the router to pick up a wifi signal reliably.
There are plenty of very knowledgeable people on here that can offer advice / help in much more detail depending on which solution you decide to go for.

Re: WiFi not working properly in conservatory
@cadejane Have a look with the app, you do have to use that and advanced wireless wi-fi properties, if on WPA3-T drop back to WPA2-PSK as a start, use the link below as a guide to help you!
Sky Max change settings link.

Re: WiFi not working properly in conservatory
@cadejane There are NO two hubs/routers that are alike, and VM one who knows what you had, the older sky SR203 previous to the sky Max may have been well better suited to your operation, then there is the question off where the Fibre was added and put in your home with the possible sky sitting in the wrong place, never mind what your home is like size wise, and now on a Wi-Fi6 device that just may not be what you need. If you wish to say or know what VM hub you had say by posting up. Can compare for you if you wish!
We are here to help if that can be done!

Re: WiFi not working properly in conservatory
Hi @cadejane
I have no experience with the Sky Max hub as I have the old one but from the few comments I have seen on here the wifi range may not be great in some buildings with users having to get one or more Sky Boosters. It also sounds like your Virgin router was a particularly good one from an ISP.
