Check the hub is not in the sun and has plenty of room around it like any electronics they normally generate heat but should never be too hot to touch. If your's is call Sky to get it replaced.
The upright design have a power supply in the plug should therefore only get warm. The older flat style are designed to run hot but are being withdrawn becausectheyvwont meet new regulations coming in next year so Sky will swap them if you call them.
