WiFi drops from new Sky Max hub
Hi. I just took out a new Sky Full Fibre Gigafast plan with Sky WiFi Max. I am getting drops in WiFi connection on a regular basis. One good example is when using an iPhone app that requires a constant connection, we are seeing a multiple drops per hour. This has happened to both me and my son. Killing the app and immediately reopening it will reconnect WiFi. I have just moved away from Virgin Broadband and these drops did not occur with their router. Also if we switch to using phone data rather than WiFi, we also don't get drops. So something is happening with the Sky router. I used to have Sky broadband and moved to Virgin a couple of years back. I recall when I started getting these drops recently that they also used to occur back when I previously had Sky broadband too. I have looked on forums online recently for posts with similar issues. One poster recommended using an app called 'WiFi Sweetspots'. I can see the current download speed on a continuous loop in this app and I have observed it regularly fluctuates from 300mbps and above to less than 50mbps and sometimes down to zero! What can I do (if anything) to prevent these drops? I am thinking that if this is something that cannot be resolved, I may take advantage of the cooling down period of this new contract and cancel this broadband plan.
I'd rather not do that, so fingers crossed there is something you can do.

I have the same issues today 31.03.25. my Wi- Fi was dropping and then coming back up only to drop later again. It is quite annoying and I got the new router from sky themselves. I am with Sky for over 9 years but it has not been that bad
