Wi-Fi issues trying to set up sky stream …. Only 4 gbps in certain rooms
Wi-Fi in other rooms to where the modem is is very poor , trying to connect sky stream to living room TV but it keeps saying
checking status .TV in bedroom set up no problem because it's nearer to the router , do I need a booster for my other rooms ?

Re: Wi-Fi issues trying to set up sky stream …. Only 4 gbps in certain rooms
@Pilot1 sounds like you do Stream needs a good wifi signal to work smoothly.
Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.
Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Re: Wi-Fi issues trying to set up sky stream …. Only 4 gbps in certain rooms
@Pilot1 the system you need depends on a number of factors like the size and layout of your home and what it is built out of. Solid walls in an okder property are far more of an issue than more modern properties like mine. However buying one unit for each floor is a good start. I use a relatively cheap system from TP-Link called Deco 4 where a 3 unit system costs under £100 it is not the fastest topping out around 700Mb/s but gives me decent spedds on each of the 3 levels in my own home. I have 3 Stream pucks and a Glass TV all of which work well.
The system is set up inAccess Point mode which is simpker and the first unit is connected to the Sky hub by ethernet the pther two sort themselves out and are placed on each level as centrally as I can get. Most people turn off the Sky WiFi so the two systems dont interfere mine isnt turned off but I use the Decos optimise function to stop any interference. Of course YMMV.
