I have had the new Wi-Fi 6 hub installed and have an Ethernet running into a summer house. My old router used the white sky q booster as a Wi-Fi access point in the summer house but it's not working with the new Wi-Fi 6 router. The new pods aren't Wi-Fi access points when connected by the Ethernet.
I need to now buy a Wi-Fi access point, does it have to be Wi-Fi 6 compatible if it's hard wired or will any Wi-Fi access point work? Don't really want to fork out a lot of money
thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CM4976 if you have the new Sky wifi Max hub the only extender that is fully compatable is the Max Wifi pod but not sure Sky will provide one for a summer house you would have to ask them. This hub is very new so its compatability with other kit is unknown but we do know it isnt compatable at the moment with Sky Q kit but that is being sorted.

I wired the pod via Ethernet but it still didn't give off a wifi signal

I had problems linking the pod I have intially it took several attempts so try plugging it in near the hub and leaving it. Once linked I would expect to work as a wifi access point but not been told that it would definitely donso.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CM4976 You have mentioned a Sky Q extender which we have been told is incompatable. Your later post used the word pod is this the new type of extender supplied by Sky - its built into the mains plug - or something else?
If you do have a Sky Wifi Max pod then it needs to be paired to your SR213 hub before it will work. I got one on Wednesday and I found it took far longer then expected to pair. In the end I plugged my pod in close to the hub and used an ethernet lead and left it to sort itself out which it did after an hour but I dont know if that happened automatically or if Sky support got involved as I had spoken to them about the issue . Once linked - you can see this in the My Sky app - I was able to move it to the position where I wanted it.
It is worrying that the broadband tech had not been trained but not that surprising at this stage. The same seems to apply to the customer servive agents on the phone. The two I spoke to had not dealt with this Wifi Max before but escalated it to a team who were trained.
Like you I would expect a wifi access point to link and work over an ethernet link. Have you tried a third party wifi access point?
