Why does virgin have full fibre here but sky does not?

As the subject says, Virgin 1GB Fibre has been available at my address for around a year now, but SKY Full Fibre is still not showing as avialble to me.

Anyone know who / how I can check to get a reason for the delay and/or a timeline for the rollout?

If it's going to be another year it feels like I may as well switch to virgin now.

Sky didn't have presence at our exchange for several years after Openreach put in the optical cabling and BT started offering FTTP.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

FTTP is available and a new ONT may be ordered.

Do you know how long full fibre has been available at your address though? Note it will be different to Virgin as they run their own cables.

I ask this because Sky's database lags a few weeks behind when it comes to availability.

Ah, I had not realised that Virgina and Sky used different cables.

Openreach completed the local works well over a year ago.

I suspect there must be a delay with the hardware in the exchange.
