Hello, we switched to gigafast internet last year and had all new lines installed. When looking at my network settings, it's saying MER? From what I have read, does MER mean I am on FTTC? I thought this should now be FTTP?
I am wanting to buy a standalone gaming router that I can connect a vpn too and it seems it's not so simple and FTTC & FTTP changes how it needs to be set up?
any help is much appreciated.

Asus rt ax82u, asus rt ax86u and asus rt ax88u are all gaming routers that will work with sky and allow vpn at router level via openvpn.
The mer authentication (asus call it client identifier (option 61)) is
anything@skydsl|anything

Okay Thankyou for that. Could you advise on if I could use a standalone gaming router that replaces the sky router and one that supports VPN's such as nord, express and so on? If I can, have you got an options on which's ones to look at? Many thanks.
