Why do I need an engineer home visit to install my hub

Why does a sky engineer need to visit my home to set up my hub.  I have a bt master socket and all I need to do is plug in the power cable to a 13 amp socket and plug in the purple cable from the master socket to the rear of the hub.  It's kinda self explanatory

If your home has since been upgraded to fttp then you would need an engineer to install the ont

I read and delete the image (it contained exchange and cabinet info)

The reason for the engineer visit to the home escapes me as you'll be using the same line. However the engineer is still required at the cabinet to change you to a sky network slot

Hi. The reason I was saying I don't need one is my daughter changed to sky last week and all I had to do was plug into the bt master socket and it worked no problem.i don't want to take a day off work if I don't need to so planning on cancelling the home visit by the engineer as they do not need to access my house to make live the service

Does it say openreach or sky engineer?

Did you order broadband boost or sky max wifi with more than 1  booster/pod mesh unit?
