I currently have Essential Plus Broadband. There are just 2 adults in the household. We don't use a PC much but we have 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 Alexas, a Fire tv stick and that's about it. We don't do gaming at all or download loads of movie content but mainly browse the internet, email, stream music and tv and not much else.
We are moving soon into a new build which has FTTP and an ONT already installed. It is a smart house so heating, alarm, TVs, Ring doorbell and 3 cameras plus iPads/iPhones as above etc will all use WiFi so a lot of connected devices. We don't know if Essential Plus will be suitable in our new house or do we need to upgrade. We don't want to endure slow internet speeds and buffering and connection needs to be quick. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

ADSL wouldn't support a 'smart house' because its outbound speed is capped at 1.4Mbs
As I said, I doubt you could transfer a legacy ADSL-speed product to FTTP anyway.

Broadband Essential Plus is a legacy ADSL service: I don't think you'd be able to carry that over to FTTP anyway.
Anything less than Superfast speed over full-fibre doesn't really make sense unless you need to save a few pounds per month: the natural products for FTTP are Full Fibre 100, Ultrafast 1, Ultrafast 2 and Gigafast.
Ultrafast 1 is adequate for most domestic properties unless they are loaded with streaming devices.

As you are on essentials adsl2+ you should have the choice of opting for 40, 80,150,500 Mbps or 1 Gbps fttp. But with only 2 people and only the firestick really demanding higher speeds you may find fttp 80Mbps would suffice . I.e. 25-35 Mbps if you stream in Uhd and the remainder to be used by other devices.

Thanks @TimmyBGood I switched from Essential Plus to Suoerfast earlier in the year as I expected faster speeds on my devices but I saw no difference whatsoever and switched back again.
I am not great at understanding broadband, but if I did switch to Suoerfast now at the new house what benefits am I likely to see that I didn't see before.given my usage? Thanks

Thanks @cookiemonsteruk
I am not great at understanding broadband especially as I switched to Suierfast earlier in the year and saw. I difference whatsoever and switched back to Essential Plus again.
Given what I would be using broadband for,, what improvements am I likely to see with Suoerfast at the level you suggest?

Superfast via fttc is dependent on distance from the cabinet so whilst in theory speeds are up to 80Mbps it diminishes according to the distance to your roadside green cabinet. Superfast via fttp would get you 80Mbps on the nose also it is 10 times more reliable than the adsl you have at the minute
