What's the point of having a timeslot

Whats the point of having a timeslot when sky had absolutely no intention of keeping it?  And without any communication.  I've been housebound all day today because the technician was supposed to be here this morning.  It's now after 2:30 and still no show and again no communication or apology or any idea when they are supposed to arrive.

Most likely delayed at an earlier job. What was the visit for?

Not denying that jobs get delayed for multiple factors ,it's the lack of communication [removed].  It's for a broad technician for installation.
