Am waiting on sky fiber being installed. Rang as the date they offered does not suit me . I asked could it not very completed before thae date and I was told that the hold up is due to a 25 day turnkey .. anyone know what this means as the guy from Sky on the phone who I spoke to never heard of it

Sounds like the new NI civils team subcontracting to KN Circet. 25 days being the turn round for whatever is planned. And seems to be terminology only used over here

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@dvdcks4 I've seen that mentioned before on another forum(can't remember which one) and it was because a survey needed doing and it was being done by a 3rd party and not Openreach as would normally be the case.
If that is the reason then it's highly unlikely that you will get it done any quicker than the timescale quoted.

From a thinkbroadband forum post: ’turnkey’ is a phrase used by Openreach to signify that the work is to be done by a contractor rather than direct labour.

Well, if it's FTTP, that new optical fibre has got to get to you either overhead or underground...

I have a very small garden to the front of my house and the telephone cables are housed underground on the footpath right beside my garden so it should be handy enough for them to lay a cable..

Possibly a footway turnkey (still none the wiser) that requires a specialist team
