What 3rd party routers work with sky broadband
I am just wondering what 3rd party routers work with sky broadband.
currently want a new router with QOS or SQM settings due to high latency issues with my upload speed. Currently at 250 ping at upload but weirdly at a decent 20ping on the download.
i believe this is just bufferbloat due to the sr203 sky hub model. (With it being a old router) just wanting know what brands work such as tp link or net gear etc etc . Thankyou

A search through this forum will reveal which routers work, but you don't state which connection you've got. Puzzled why you're suggesting that a high ping is down to the SR203 as mine is 12ms and that's with various devices, cctv-nas drive etc, all running.

Re: What 3rd party routers work with sky broadband
I have the full fibre 100 package with 20 upload.
im confused too why my upload ping is super high to, I contacted technical support and they said everything is fine but I disagree.
My device I tested it on is on a very high end gaming PC with a Ethernet connection. Only device connected to hub. I was with plus net previous to sky for over and year and everything was perfect only until I switched to sky I have this issue

I tested just with speedtest on my tablet on wifi, is your PC connected directly to your hub with no switches?

@Jjwilsonx the Asus range are well liked by other forum members so there are loads of posts with the settings you require. Otherwise check whatever you buy supports DHCPv4 Option 61 as several makers dont.
Agree with @cuke that your delays on opload are unlikely to be with an issue with the SR203 which in router terms is not an old design.

Re: What 3rd party routers work with sky broadband
Yeah direct connection with a ethernet cable thats brand new, no switches. I also tested it on a normal speed test and also did a wireless test on my ohone with the same results 240ms upload speed and steady 20ms download.
i thought this might be due to bufferbloat on my router. Im not sure how to fix this consdiering i was with plusnet before hand never had this issue until the first day i switched to sky 2 months ago

Re: What 3rd party routers work with sky broadband
Hi,
Just out of interest did you get this issue resolved?
I have 250ms - 300ms upload ping and gaming is impossible at times.
Got a rating of poor for gaming on OOkla speed test.
My package is 300mb download full fibre - 50mb upload. Xbox connected directly via etherent.
