My wifi is indicating that I have weak security;

I have apv installed on my laptop and iPhone;

does that give me sufficient protection?

Apple chooses to label all WiFi below WPA3 as 'weak': the rest of the industry disagrees.

Note that this relates to wireless encryption and so is different to malware/virus threats.
