The Wi-Fi is slow up stairs but also in some of the bedrooms you can not get it. So you are not able to use your laptop to do uni work or use any other devices that need it

WiFi signal strength is affected by the layout and type of construction of your home. For example if your home has 3 floors or you live in an older home with solid walls you will often have areas with little or no WiFi signal.
To deal with this first make sure your Sky hub is in the best place to give the best WiFi coverage which is out in the open on a surface above obstructions like radiators. If coverage is poor after that then you need more kit. Sky will sell you an add-on to your sub like their WiFi Max package which can get you up to 3 extenders if one of their engineers agree you need them. Alternatively you can buy your own kit either to replace just the WiFi part of the hub or replace it totally but thst brings complications like the probable loss of the Sky voice line.

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of 'Broadband Boost' and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell them except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Inevitably some have leaked onto a certain auction site, but Sky won't offer support with using these.
Confusingly the 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above.
