Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
@Db98 there is no way to msnually control the channel the Sky Max hub uses, it is 100% automatic. This is because like many other modern routers the hub can use partially restricted frequencies which can only be used if there is no higher priority user like a radsr station within range.
Use of non matched extenders is therefore difficult and it is not recommended. The recommended solution if you do not want to use Sky's WiFi Max pods is to turn off the hub's wifi and connect a third party wifi access point by Ethernet. This is how my own set up is connected.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

@Db98 What make and model off extenders are you currently using with the sky Max hub?

Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
@Db98 There are a few settings that can be adjusted in the Tp itself have never used that model but worth taking a look at it, see if you can adjust the power coverage on it, and also take a look at the sky Max make sure it is on WPA2-PSK for the wireless mode!

Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
So I found out that the tplink re550 doesn't support dfs wireless to it can't find 5ghz when it's on channel 157 so it looks like I'm going to have to buy one that supports it it is unfortunate that sky have locked most of the settings on the router it's self.

Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
@Db98 No DFS to avoid up on that channel, but getting a RE to operate through the whole range is difficult, only one i know is the Asus RP range.

Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
The re560 dosent support up 160ghz the re700x does so I think it's just a case of outdated hardware.

Re: Wanting to change wifi max router 5ghz channel
@Db98 You can only but try, and would be very very surprised if the sky Max hub supported 160Mhz channels in the slightest! The AP will only match what the Router has for channel width! Have a look with a wi-fi analyzer to see what is going on, Netspot does work through that range!
