VPN Issue

I switched ISP a couple of days ago and I cannot connect to my works VPN using Sky broadband. I've already followed a lot of works diagnostic steps with no luck. Is there likely to be anything Sky is doing to prevent the VPN working? I have disabled broadband shield, and I have the new sky hub as a router. Have tried changing a few settings on router and nothing works.

Re: VPN Issue

Thanks. I managed to find the issue - I had a virtual switch configured in HyperV. I removed this and it now works.

@jondm there is nothing specific stopping VPNs unless your company has decided to use the same IP address range as Sky's default which is 192.168.0.1 as the gateway address. If they have (and they should know better) you will need to change the defaults on your hub - log into 192.168.0.1 and navigate to the LAN IP setup tab and change the settings to 192.168.1.1.

If dtill stuck post the name of the software yiu are using to connect.

Re: VPN Issue

It doesn't let me change my IP address to the one your saying, every time I try to change it and press apply it says it lost connection to server ? Will I get any luck ringing them?

Re: VPN Issue

Hi, I'm having the same issue (only since switched to sky). Could you possibly talk me through how to check for and remove this virtual switch?

@penyjen if you are having issues with a work VPN since switching to Sky first thing is to talk to your company's IT support. The OP found their issue was due to something unrelated to the change in ISP which was in the dnd co-incidental.

Re: VPN Issue

Hi, thank you for replying. I've already spoken to company IT support, had a sky engineer round, spoken to the software support.
